Come and See – Haere Mai kia Kite – Venez Voir
One of the two who heard and followed Jesus was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first found his brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah.”
(John 1.40-41)
The first thing Andrew does after meeting Jesus is bring his brother to meet him. The next time we meet Andrew in the Gospel account, he brings a little boy with loaves and fishes to meet Jesus. Then a few chapters later, it’s some curious Greeks.
Andrew knew that he had received a gift like no other. He recognised Jesus as the Messiah; the promised one his people had been waiting for. This was the Good News, and he wanted to share it not just with his family but the whole community.
And we want to share it with you.
